Jess & Mike are enthusiastically supporting our friend Rakhi Pancholi (MLA for Edmonton-Whitemud since 2019) for Alberta NDP leader in the 2024 leadership race. We have created this page as a way to share information with friends and family about how to participate in this process.

Important dates:
Apr 22, 2024: Last day to become a member to qualify to vote
Jun 3, 2024: Ballots & PINs mailed out - PLEASE NOTE: The vote is being administered by a third party vendor. As such, the envelope that your ballot/PIN is mailed in might not have NDP on it.
June 3-22, 2024: You can vote online (RECOMMENDED), by phone or by mail with the PIN mailed to you. More instructions will be on this mailout.
Jun 22, 2024: Voting closes, and the party announces the winner
Other Key details:
This is a ranked preferential ballot system. You'll rank the candidates in order of preference. If no one gets more than 50 per cent in the first round, the candidate with the least number of votes will be eliminated and their second-place votes will be redistributed until some crosses the 50%+1 mark.
If you are buying a membership before April 2024, you membership will expire on Dec 31, 2024. This is not a lifelong commitment. A $10 contribution for membership is NOT disclosed publicly and neither is the membership list.
If you get any correspondence or phone call from another campaign use polite but direct language asking them to not contact you again and that you are voting for another campaign.
You do NOT need to show up anywhere to vote! The sign up AND the voting can all happen online!
You can encourage other friends and family to sign up! They just need to be:
Over 14 years of age as of the date they purchased the membership
A permanent resident of Canada or a Canadian citizen
Currently residing in Alberta
